Going With The Flow

Rogue River, Shady Grove, Oregon

When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy. -Rumi

Rivers flow not past, but through us; tingling, vibrating, exciting every cell and fiber in our bodies, making them sing and glide. -John Muir

I did a thing.

I set my ultimate perfectionist planner self aside and said YES to a totally last minute, barely planned or prepped, impromptu 16-day (maybe longer) adventure.

Sometimes it’s an absolute necessity to take off, let go, slow down and relax. Making it a priority to allow the time and space to BE in the flow balances out all of the constant "doing" that many of us can get caught up in.

It’s never about the weight of life but rather our balance within.

The rocks remind me to stay balanced and the river offers reminders:

Rivers adapt to change and circumstances.

Different terrain, twists and turns. Logs, rocks and various obstacles, yet, the river makes its way.

Rivers are ever changing.

Rivers are never the same because water is continually in motion. This is the same for us, continuity is really just an illusion. We never live the same moment twice. Each moment contributes to the person we are always becoming, we evolve and change—new in every moment.

Rivers move on.

Rivers stay in flow. No matter what, always in forward motion.

We cannot rewind our lives and lingering our minds in the past typically keeps us in suffering. Focusing on what’s ahead and moving forward is the way we create a beautiful destiny.

And

In creating balance we find alignment.

Here we go, the adventure begins... xo -a
